Liam Kenney (Ma-Con) will start the two races in Assen from the best place. The first two pole positions for the U.S. boy in this deep talent pool will be rewarded with 6 bonus points.
In the first qualifying Kenney was clear of his teammate Adrian Campfield with .328 seconds. In the second round it was significantly closer. Kenney was again on top but by just .063 advantage as heavy rain fell. Second was Liroy Stuart (Van Amersfoot Racing). The Dutchman was sixth in the first qualifying and is substituting for injured Justin Ros in his series debut.
Point leader Daniel Abt (Abt Sportsline) had to leave qualifying 1 satisfied with 7th starting spot. The second round Abt ended 3rd ahead of Adrian Campfield. Results were similarly mixed for second in points Klaus Bachler (Urd Racing) after he was 3rd in qualifying 1. In the 2nd qualifying he was 10th in the ever increasing rain.
The heavily funded ADAC Sports Foundation pilot, Patrick Schrann (Buchbinder Rent-a-Car by Emotional Engineering) drove to 5th in both qualifying rounds.
